Rose Garden

The hard work of digging out and creating the rose garden from an area of grass near the War Memorial was carried out by the Havant V Team, who removed the grass and then dug over the very poor soil underneath, whilst removing large stones and general builders’ rubble as they dug

After leaving the soil to settle, fertiliser was added, then four roses plus a weeping Cherry were planted

An under planting of daffodils was completed later by the Havant V Team.

Due to the very poor quality of the initial soil it’s structure was improved with the addition of more compost and general fertiliser during the Summer of 2016

The roses, two of each, are “At Peace” [white / cream] and “Loving Memories” [red]

The weeping cherry is “Kiku- shidare-zakura

The daffodils are a “Cornish mix” with mainly red / orange trumpets
